Chapter one Walking Your Talk
We live “in the moment,” which is something that humans rarely do. Although we try to teach them by example, they continue to dwell on the past and worry about the future, and no amount of catnip seems to help. As cats we never really need to be anywhere, since wherever we are, we are there because we choose to be, just as we are who we are because we choose to be. These are some of the things we can and should teach our humans. “Walking your talk” is the best teaching tool at your disposal. Even though it may appear to have no effect it is important to persevere for your human’s sake, and yes even for your own. |

We would survive quite well without humans, but there are some perks in having them around. For instance, the only real hunting I do these days is sniffing out where the treats are kept. Also, a warm lap sure beats the cold ground. Sharing your home with people can be a good experience if you take the time to teach them “the way.”
